The lake held at 92 percent of capacity, and water temperatures remained in the upper seventies. Early morning topwater was the best producer for both bass and striper last week. Walking baits and poppers both scored bites until about 8 am. After that large and smallmouth took stick baits, jigs, and drop shot in 10 to 20 feet of water. Main lake points have produced well for anglers using 4” plastics in green pumpkin, purple, and grown. Striped bass picked up cut baits near the marina and Yellowbar. They also fell for umbrella rigs on the troll. Catfish anglers fooled whisker fish with dip bait and chicken liver in deeper coves around the lake.
