The striper bite has been reliable for both bait and lure anglers. Most of the action occurred early in the day on topwater, jerkbaits, and small swimbaits. Bait anglers reported flurries of bitters throughout the day on cut sardines, jumbo live minnows, and bloodworms. Fishing before and after check gates has been the best bet. Bass anglers saw decent fishing while throwing topwater, Senkos, and finesse baits. Mornings have been the best time to fool fish, but evenings have provided a second opportunity at the green bass. Catfish anglers did well soaking anything the smells. Dip bait, chicken liver, and cut baits have been some of the favorites.
