The bass bite at Pyramid is starting to pick up, and anglers reported some bass still on beds. Senkos, drop shot, and Texas rigs all worked for bites with Green Pumpkin being the strong favorite color choice. Brown or Ox Blood was a close second. Crankbaits and small swimbaits worked for bites early or after the wind created mudlines. Striper anglers soaked sardines and lugworms in the Marina and at Yellowbar for decent stringers of fish. A 12-pound striper fell for a magnum trout imitation topwater bait, and that same angler reported numerous smaller fish after throwing the walking bait all day. An easier way to harvest striper has been to pull umbrella rigs past points in 25 to 40 feet of water. Catfish anglers used dip bait, cut baits, and chicken liver to catch plenty of chubby catfish. Pyramid Lake has a plentiful population of healthy catfish.
