Isabella dropped slightly this week to 13 percent of capacity and fishing has been solid for multiple species. The Largemouth bass action has been going strong the last few weeks. Our contacts reported Bass going for Keitechs, Texas rigs, crankbaits, topwater, drop-shot and jigs. Most of the fish have been coming in shallow water from shore to 20-feet around cover. There have been lots of 1 to 2-pound fish with a few nicer grade in the mix. The crappie action is fair from shore and good from offshore structure. Boaters and kayakers had very good success around offshore structure with live minnows and minijigs. The trout action is fair to good with the best action on Mice Tails, Garlic scented Powerbait, spinnerbaits, and GULP! Pinched Crawlers. Boat anglers have had the best action trolling various needlefish, Tasmanian Devils, and flicker shad around the Dam in deeper water. The Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is running from now until July 4th. There are 500 tagged trout worth $20 - $5000. The catfish bite has been solid with Dip Baits, nightcrawlers and frozen shad. A pair of local anglers reported catching numerous quality Whiskerfish over 5 pounds around submerged logs.
