Fishing was good in the southern aqueduct last week with striper, bass, and catfish all hitting the scales. Bass went for poppers and small walking baits in the mornings and evenings. They also took weightless Senkos and drop shot Roboworms in slower moving water. Striper anglers did well on cut baits, bloodworms, and jumbo live minnows. A 10-pound striper fell for a sardine near Tupman. Anglers also scored bites on topwater, jerkbaits and Flukes after check gates. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut baits on Carolina rigs for decent stringers of whiskerfish.
