The Santa Ana River Lake catfish bite has been wide open on just about any bait buoyed up by a marshmallow. Mealworms, shrimp, and nightcrawlers when paired with a marshmallow have all been producing good stringers of Silver King cats averaging about two pounds, especially when fished at "the road" and near the boat dock.
