Twice-weekly catfish plants and weekly tilapia plants have made the fishing action for both species very good at Corona Lake, and there was a bonus plant of trophy class Silver King catfish last week for the Memorial Day weekend holiday.

The best action for the cats has been for boat or shore anglers who are risking losing a few rigs and fishing up in the flooded brush and trees with nightcrawlers, JD's Catfish Bait, or the meal worm-marshmallow or shrimp-marshmallow combo bait continues to be best.

Anglers are reminded that the limit on trout has been lifted so anglers can take home as many rainbows as possible before the water becomes too warm for the rainbows. The bite was pretty fair this past week, with anglers targeting the trout in the deep water near the dam and main channel at the upper end of the lake having the best success.
