Cope’s Tackle and Rod with Bakersfield Kids Outdoors stocked trout in River Walk this week. Bright colored Sick jigs are getting bit on a drop shot and mini jig rig. The Bakersfield Firefighters 11th annual trout derby and pancake breakfast will be held November 23, 2024. There will be over a thousand pounds stocked with lightening and Rainbow trout to 5 pounds. The lowest tagged caught during the event will be a $1000 prize. Anglers have been scoring bass in the early and later hours of the day. Bass have been coming on small flukes, ned rigs, shad imitation plastics on drop shot and green pumpkin Senkos. Bluegill have been showing at both lakes with wax and red worms.
