Castaic fell to 80 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures dropped into the low seventies. Bass anglers reported good fishing with a diminished topwater bite. Riser baits, Rapala Skitter Walks, and Gunfish still took fish, but the mid to lower water column provided better action. Large and smallmouth went after weightless Flukes and small swimbaits in white or Natural Shad in 5 to 15 feet of water from shore out to the middle of the lake. Drop shots, weightless Senkos, and shaky heads did well closer to shore. Striped bass boiled in the Ski Arm and anglers continued to connect with Espetit 95s and Riser baits. Mid water column baits took line sides as well. Catfish anglers connected at the west ramp in the deeper cove north of the launch ramp.
