Pyramid Lake held at full pool with water temps dipping into the upper fifties. Anglers reported strong winds and good fishing. Striped bass have been biting very well with anglers scoring bites using deep water techniques. Kastmasters, ice jigs, and any spoon that imitates a shad have been landing line-sides from 3 to 8 pounds. Striped bass also took magnum swimbaits and topwater lures near the marina. A 25 pound striped bass was reported after 5000 pounds of trout were dumped into the lake. Trout anglers made quick work of the rainbows using dough baits, minijigs, live worms, and various tout spinners and spoons. Bass anglers used flutter spoons and blade baits in 15 to 50 feet of water to bring up good numbers of large and smallmouth. Bass also fell for finesse plastics along bluff walls and main lake points. Brown, dark green, and purple have been good color choices. Catfish anglers rigged cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait for good results throughout the lake.
