The striper bite has definitely slowed, but many of our local anglers ground it out for some great results. Scott Treadway landed a monster striper using one of his custom jerkbaits in a shad pattern. Lure anglers also used paddle tailed soft jerkbaits and tube baits at first light and in the evenings for some decent results. Bait anglers use cut baits, lugworms, and jumbo live minnows after check gates. Catfish ate dip baits, cut sardines, and chicken liver with Carolina or slip rigs working for bites. Largemouth were tight lipped last week. Drop shot, split shot, and Texas rigged grubs and small Flukes saw some action in slower moving water.
