The lake rose to 91 percent of capacity and water temperatures continued their decent into the upper fifties. Bass fell for shad and crawdad imitation crankbaits and deep diving jerkbaits as the lake opened. After that most anglers switched to drop shot, Texas rigs, and Ned rigs along bluff walls and main lake points. Green pumpkin, Ox Blood, and purple fooled large and smallmouth. Anglers reported bass holding as dep as fifty feet. Striped bass anglers trolled umbrella rigs in 25 to 40 feet of water over main lake points. Cut baits and live worms also worked for bites. Catfish anglers used cut sardines, chicken liver, and dip baits near Yellowbar and at the marina
