Pyramid Lake dropped significantly to 85 percent of capacity. Be sure to stay in the main channel after launching. Striper have been biting well for anglers soaking cut baits near the marina. Striper also went for Kastmasters, jerkbaits, and blade baits. Trolled umbrella rigs produced well as too. Trout anglers used the usual line up of dough baits, Mousetails, minijigs, and lures to pick away at the tons of trout planted over the last several weeks. Bass have been a little slow, but patient anglers used finesse techniques and crankbaits to land some beautiful large and smallmouth. Drop shot, Ned rigs, and shaky heads in 10 to 40 feet of water got plenty of attention from the bass. Another favorite tactic has been to drop shot nightcrawlers while allowing the live worm to provide most of the action. Catfish ate cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait in deeper coves and in the marina channel.
