Fishing was excellent early this week, but the trout reports slowed as the rain approached. Numerous fish over five pounds were reported, and a lot of them were beautiful lightening trout. Anglers used a combination of dough baits, Mouse tails, minijigs, and lures to fool the monster trout. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait and cut anchovies with several larger catfish taking the bait. Bluegill have been fun for anglers using live worms under a bobber, and bass anglers reported fair fishing. Bass anglers used drop shot, Texas rigs, and Senkos to fool fish up to five pounds, and a trophy sized largemouth was reported by a kayak angler throwing trout imitation swimbaits.
