BASS
The spawn is on its way. The small bass up in the shallows are biting better than previous weeks, but not quite up to some anglers' standards. The drop shot worked moderately well with purple and oxblood worms. Brush hogs in watermelon and green pumpkin were reported heavily. Anglers have reported that they were catching between the 2-3lb range filled with eggs. Kathy Grewe, pictured above from Hemet caught a nice 2.43 pound bass on nightcrawlers by the east dam. Mike Southerland, Photo #1 from Hemet caught a big 7.99 pound bass on Mike's fly by the north shore.

STRIPER
Stripers were being caught this week just running a little small. Mike Southerland, Photo #2 from Hemet caught a 4.93 pounder on flies by restroom #2. Yvonne Southerland, Photo #3 from Hemet caught a 4.10 lber using a fly by the north shore. Swimbaits, anchovies and sardines are still working on catching these boys. Congratulation to Mike Southerland for winning this weeks striper derby of a $200 payout with his 4.93 pound striper.
