Bass fishing is still good on top waters early and late, and fly lined plastics, texas jigs and regular jigs in the mid-day. Fish are scattered to 15' in the water column. Trout action has slowed, although an 8 lb. "tail walker" was weighed in at the Marina on Saturday. The brute was taken incidentally on a Texas rig during a club tournament. Most trout however are up near the dam area. Drifted nightcrawlers, needlefish/dodger combos are getting bit approximately 20' to 25' of water. Crappie are still in the back at Cachuma Bay, Santa Cruz Bay and the narrows. Mini jigs and small minnow imitations accounted for most of the slabs. Catfish are biting well on cut mackerel in Horse canyon, Cachuma Bay and Johnsons. Bow fishing for carp can be very good early on overcast mornings and can be found all over the lake. Bluegill are starting to become more numerous in the backs of coves around tules and stick-ups.
