Mother Nature was at it again with temps in the mid 20s and snow on Thursday, but have no fear, you`re in the Sierras and summer is on its way back.

Fishing has been a bit on the slow slide - could have been the storm that came through, the full moon or the murky water due to the lake turning (the warm water on the bottom comes to the top and mucks up the water). We did have a few big fish come out last week. It was a family affair for the Hansons - Father Bruce of Fullerton landed a 5-?? pound beaut on a crappie jig, while Son Dean hauled in a nice 3-?? pound Alper. ??Kevin Hewitt with some help from Kyle Glaus, both of Simi Valley caught a 3-?? pounder on a NightCrawler.

Fishing the inlet with jigs, worms or eggs (yup - something new) pick up quite a few limits, while the shore fisherman are using Rainbow or Orange PowerBait. The trollers are still using lures with a bit of red on them - Red and Gold Thomas Buoyant, SuperDuper, Panther Martin or Mepps. They are also trolling olive wooly buggers or the olive matuka.

The Department of Fish and Game stocked the lake Wednesday with pan-size fish. If you happen to catch a fish with a tag in the gill, it`s just to let you know the DFG are stocking with some larger fish.

The temperatures dropped a tad to the low 60s, but it is getting warmer day by day and in the low 40`s for the low with a bit of a breeze (5 - 10 mph) in the afternoon. The skeeters are gone for now - Yippee! ??All campgrounds are now open for your camping pleasure.

You may have noticed there is no rhyme or reason as to when you get my emails or what address you may receive it from. I apologize to you all, you can thank MSN and Verizon. We hope to be sending out fishing report regularly next week

We had a black lab that got out of the owner`s truck on Thursday, May 17th. It was picked up by a father and son who were in a gray - gold - taupe Chevy Z71 extended cab. Please give us a call if you happened to have picked up the dog. The owner extended his trip, stopped by the lake 3 mornings hoping the people who picked up his dog had come back to see if anyone had lost a dog.

We have gone to our summer hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm. The cafe will be serving Breakfast from 7:00am to 11:00am and Lunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm everyday at least through Labor Day.

Remember your polarizers, sunscreen, bug juice and PONCHO along with a few layers of clothes - just in case.
