Trout was the main attraction this past week, and they bit well, mostly in the mornings, but action slowed a little by Sunday possibly due to the weather and the pressure fom fishermen. Most of the trout were caught near the Ramp #2 Area and once again, Powerbait was the top choice, but worms worked well also. Some larger trout still reported coming in back in the East End, but those numbers are down over what was reported last week. Striper action on the other hand improved, especially for those fishing for them from shore. Ramp #2 saw great action with the schoolies hitting anchovies and shad, while the Marina Point seemed to produce a bit better with chicken liver. By boat the East End was still the best spot for striper, but increased numbers were reported being caught along the North Shore and near the Dam/InJet. While most of the striper were reported coming in off.of bait, there were also a few reports of some trolling action still producing fair numbers of fish. The warm weather also brought out fair bass fishing and also a fair number of catfish as well. Bass were hitting plastics and worms back in the East End and the South Shore along the reed lines and catfish seemed to favor the north side of the lake. No reports on bluegill. Happy Fishing and Happy Tails..

Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass ==> Fair
Bluegill ==> Poor
Catfish ==> Fair
Striper ==> Good ==> Average Size: 1 - 3 lbs.
Trout ==> Excellent ==> Average Size: 1 - 2 lbs.

Unlike last week, I know why fishermen failed to show at the lake, but the weather brought good striper fishing to most of the fishermen we talked to. Trolling was the name of the game this past week for the striper, and East End was the best, but Ramp #2 did a close second, plus more reports of striper from shore near Ramp #2 as well. Bait wise for the striper chicken liver and anchovies seem to be...... Read More
