Kind of a different bite going on at Lake Skinner this past week. Reports were filled with people reporting and getting only a few bites while they also reported seeing people right next to them catching all kinds of fishes. Also, it seemed like one day would be great then the next woud be slow. Trout continued to bite, mostly in the morning near Ramp #2 and back up in the East End. Best bait for the trout remains colorful Powerbait and blown-up worms. Striper still hitting as well, again mostly a morning bite. Ramp #2 and Marina Point produced fairly well for shore fishermen while the East End remained the best spot for those in a boat, however the Inlet / Dam and Ramp #2 Area produced some fish as well. Mostly, 1 - 3 pound schoolies, but a fair number of 4 to 5 pounders were also reported. From shore, the bait has been cut anchovies, but by boat fishermen are fairing well off of chicken liver. Bass bite still fairing well in the East End and South Shore off of worms and dark plastics. Some bluegill and catfish also reported, but numbers were somewhat low. Good Luck Fishing and Happy Tails

Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass ==> Fair
Bluegill ==> Fair
Catfish ==> Fair
Striper ==> Good
Trout ==> Good

Trout was the main attraction this past week, and they bit well, mostly in the mornings, but action slowed a little by Sunday possibly due to the weather and the pressure fom fishermen. Most of the trout were caught near the Ramp #2 Area and once again, Powerbait was the top choice, but worms worked well also. Some larger trout still reported coming in back in the East End, but those numbers are down over what was reported...... Read More
