Trout fishing was good as was predicted due to the 4000 lbs. stalking of Calaveras hatcheries. The bows are a little deeper than they have been.. Consequently, those using CD-5 / CD- 7, Rapalas, or one to two colors of lead cone using Needlefish and Super Dopers were doing the best. Harveys', E-point, and Mohawk have been the best locations for shore angling with Powerbait, 'crawlers, and Gulp salmon eggs. Bass fishing showed a lot of improvement this week, with Jigs, spoons and dropshot rigs working on fish along the main channel iin 25 - 30 ft. of water. Anglers reporting a 2-1 largie to smallie ratio. Trollers also reported a handful of incidental Crappie catches in Santa Cruz Bay. One again, all other species were no shows.
