Trout action was very good this past week, with the same patterns still holding up. Trolled needlefish, rapalas, and kastmasters right on the surface have been the best offerings. The mouth of Cachuma Bay, Santa Cruz Bay, the log line and around E point have been the best locations. Shore anglers also doing well on E point and to either side of the log line. Power bait and nightcrawlers getting the job done. Action here should get better and better with yet another 4000 lbs. plant from the Calaveras trout farm on Monday the 13th. Largemouth dominating the bass scene, and fish have been in the 20 to 30 ft. depth range. Jigs, spoons and most deep water tactics working, some smallmouth were reported, with the same strategies as above. A few cats crappie and carp rounded off the bite. Fish count: 166 anglers caught 320 trouts, 56 largemouth, 21 smallmouth, 11 cats, 9 crappies and 2 carps. Water temperature is 57.5 '

We are receiving another 4000 lbs. plant this Monday, November 29. A little more cooling...... Read More
