Lake Elevation: 1709.79
Surface water temp: 62-65 degrees.
Fish Plants: The next trout plant is scheduled for November 24th.
Lake Hours: 6:30am to 4:00pm
Weather: Low of 40 degrees and high of 60 degrees.
The bass boils seen in previous weeks are now slowed to a simmer, but that's not to say the bait has gone away. With surface temps dropping so is the shad so use your fish finder to locate the bait. Use a fluke, ice jig, Senko, or spoon to harpoon a mass of bass. DVL trout fishing is improving with each subsequent stock. Fishing from shore is the way to score with nightcrawlers, Powerworms, or mini jigs. The trout are in the weeds so fish the thicket to ensure a limit. Noah Jimenez of Rialto Caught an 8.8 pound trout fishing from shore with Powerbait. Use swimbaits to blindside a lineside when DFG or Lassen drop fat fodder for the gluttonous striper. Fish shad baits like spoons or flukes when the trout get wiped out. Jim Bounleuth of Riverside caught two striper at 7.7 and 8.15 pounds fishing with a Lunker Punker. Gueda Chen of Los Angeles caught a 9.98 pound striper fishing with Mackerel. Ryan Lock of Canyon Country caught a 17.04 pound Striper fishing with a BBZ. Herbert Perez of Corona caught his biggest striper at 19 pounds fishing with a white rattle trap. Raul Chirino caught a 14 pound striper fishing with a white rattle trap. Matt Johnson of Hemet caught a 9.45 pound striper fishing the west shore with an AC Plug. DVL has seen a slight catfish bite. The north corner of the east dam is the spot where cats are hot. Mackerel or anchovies great bait for fat cats. Giueda Chen of Los Angeles caught an 11.70 pound cat fishing with mackerel. If you're on a mission for panfishin' a mini jig or worm will get a big blue gill or crappie. The east dam is the hot spot.
