BASS
When it comes to bass fishing it doesn't get any better than DVL! The morning bite is wide open on a variety of topwater and shad baits: Spooks, Rapala X raps, Owner tango dancers, and shad flukes on underspins or scroungers. The drop shot rig is a mainstay for mid day with oxblood and purple varieties being the most reported colors. Yamamoto senkos and ikas in watermelon or pumpkin are great baits for the afternoon.

TROUT
DVL anglers saw few trout this week. Most recent reports have them between 30 and 60 feet on the west side of the lake. Nightcrawlers, Rapalas, and spoons are a few of the most common summer trout baits.

STRIPER
There is still a steady flow of stripers being caught mostly in the morning. Shad lures are the ticket. Flukes with scroungers or underspins, Rapala x raps or coundowns, poppers, spooks, and 400 series Z plugs are all heavily reported baits. Kevin deemer of Hemet caught a 9.9 pound striper fishing near the inlet with a Kastmaster. Marc franco of Yucaipa caught a 14 pound striper fishing with a scrounger in the south west corner. Eddie "fish taco" Martinez of Fontana caught a 10.56 pound striper fishing near the attenuator with a custom plug. Brett McGee and Fred Risalix of Redlands landed 9 stripers totaling 81 pounds fishing with jerk baits.

CATFISH
Fishing at DVL for a channel or blue cut bait will do. Anchovies, Mackerel or shrimp won't leave your line limp. The attenuator is the best place to anchor to catch a cat just like that.

PANFISH
Bluegill is bold but crappie is spotty. Shore anglers should fish in the twigs with worms or jigs. From a boat fish the dams with a worm and a float.
