Striper and trout remain the strongest action here at Lake Skinner. Reports are that the striper are mostly being caught near Ramp #2 or the Inlet and that most of their stomachs are filled with shad. Morning bite is still the best for striper, however boat action is still the best as few striper have been reported coming in from the shore. Trout continues to be the best fish from shore as fishermen reported limits of trout using powerbait, night crawlers as well as spinner baits and spoons. Some big cats still showing up in the deeper water along the South Shore, the bite may be mighty but not many. A few bluegill also being reported coming in off of meal worms in the East End, again big fish but not many of them.

The following are the fish ratings:

Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Poor
Catfish: Fair
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Excellent
Trout: Excellent

The biggest news regarding the trout is that more are coming...... Read More

Several fishermen have reported seen schools of shad running just about everywhere and there are even reports of some boils. Tricky thing has been the time slot for the stiper action. Almost all of the action has been the first 3 to 4 hours that the lake...... Read More
