With all of the rain this past week, we had fewer fishermen trying their luck, and as such fewer report were given. What is known is that the trout were biting very well this past week. Ramp # 2 remains the top spot as most of the trout came in off of powerbait and night crawlers. With another stock coming up within the week, trout action should remain strong. The biggest news regarding the trout is that more are coming in by boat which shows that they are finally starting to move out into the rest of the lake. Striper action remain great overall this past week as a few ten pounders were landed, however this is the first week in some time that a fish over 15 pounds has not come in. Striper action remains the best near Ramp #2 and the Inlet as they are hitting swimbaits, topwater and rattle traps. Chicken liver and cut sardines are producing some fish, however artificial seems to be the best ticket right now. Morning hours are still the best, but several fishermen report seeing increased action right as the lake is closing. Increased shore action from points near Ramp #2 for striper was also reported. A few bass still in the mix coming in from the East End and South Shore along with some catfish from the deeper waters along the South Shore.

The following are the fish ratings:

Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Poor
Catfish: Fair
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Excellent
Trout: Excellent

Several fishermen have reported seen schools of shad running just about everywhere and there are even reports of some boils. Tricky thing has been the time slot for the stiper action. Almost all of the action has been the first 3 to 4 hours that the lake...... Read More

Although the beginning of the week started out rather slow, with few fish to speak of, the later half of the week picked back up for most of the fishermen. Striper have been the main draw here at the lake for the past few weeks, and they continue to be the most active fish on the lake. Morning hours are the best, and the bigger fish are still coming in off of artificial lures and most of that being...... Read More
