The Bakersfield Kids Outdoors non-profit purchased and stocked both lightening and Rainbow trout on December 23rd. The bite has been steady here with larger trout over 2-pounds coming out. Anglers have been scoring trout with Powerbait, mousetails, spinners and jigs. The bass bite has been fair to good with the best action coming in the later part of the day. Bass have been coming on crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs and shad imitation plastics on drop shot. Bluegill have been showing at both lakes with wax and red worms. The BKO Fishing Derby is scheduled here on February 8, 2025. Both lakes will be stocked with over a thousand pounds of trout to 5lbs and 25 tagged fish worth up to $1000.
