Isabella Lake held at 27 percent of its storage capacity and the water temps are 50 to 55-degrees. The bass bite slowed a bit this week, but the larger grade fish are making a showing. Quality fish over 5 lbs were reported in 25 to 30-feet of water on swimbaits, deep-diving cranks and Senkos. Bass have also been coming on dark jigs and underspins with white Keitech trailers at Rocky Point, Piney Point and Engineer Point. The catfish bite picked up this week with one local angler reporting very good action with a stringer of fish to 5 lbs. Crappie are a little tougher, but persistence has been the key. The slabs are schooling in 15 to 20-feet of water near structure. Our sources reported the best action has been a slow retrieve four-cranks off the bottom in 17-feet of water with jigs from Get Bent Baits. For the fish that are holding at the deeper depths, it’s been best with small spoons or crappie jigs.
