Anglers reported fair fishing at BV with trout and largemouth as the best bets. Rainbow trout took dough baits, Mousetails, and minijigs. Boat anglers found bigger rainbows while trolling Flicker Shad and Wedding Rings. Bass anglers used finesse baits rigged with 6” straight tailed worms in green pumpkin and ox blood to fool fish near the islands. Crankbaits have been effective as well. Catfish anglers Carolina rigged chicken liver and dip bait for good results on smaller catfish. A 10 pounder whisker fish was reported by an anglers using fresh shrimp. Crappie were decent for anglers who found biting schools. Minijigs and small live minnows fooled the tasty panfish.
