Water Temperature: 65 degrees

With the rougher weather conditions over the past week, most anglers have had luck using bait in deeper waters either from the canal by the entrance booth or past the swim beach area from the shoreline or out towards Yellowbar and Chumash Island have been great areas. Fresh sardines from the marina and lug worms have been working well along with cut mackerel and your standard night crawlers with a longer leader. Some sub-surface baits like jerkbaits and smaller swimbaits have been working in the morning hours to come across some stripers on the lake but mainly bait bite. Bass have been eating deep diving crank baits and soft plastic creature baits along the grass lines throughout the lake and even drop shot roboworms or nightcrawlers as well. Catfish are still biting all over on any cut bait within the coves or from the rip rap.
