Bass, Stripers and Catfish have been biting very well over the past couple of weeks on
various baits throughout the lake, especially in the morning hours of the day. Bass have
been biting soft plastics along the shoreline and various sized swim baits along steeper
walls and points.
Stripers have been boiling in deeper water, out towards Spanish Point and Serrano and around Chumash island have been great locations in the mornings and afternoons on top water baits and kastmasters or soft plastic baits working them subsurface. Cut baits have been very effective throughout the day in most coves and walls around the lake with a heavier sinker to endure the winds and currents. Cut Mackerel, fresh Sardines and lugworms have been working great lately along with a classic nightcrawler either weightless or drop shot methods throughout the day.
