The lake rose to 93 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been in the low eighties. The grass mats are thick along the shorelines and they are holding plenty of bass. Anglers used topwater, crankbaits, and small swimbaits to pull bass out of the weeds. Anglers also used Texas rigged plastic worms in the weed holes and pockets. Senkos drew bites along bluff walls, and jerkbaits worked on windy days in the mudlines. Striper anglers used cut sardines and bloodworms near the marina and Yellowbar for a slow pick on the linesides. The thick grass has made bait fishing tricky for shore anglers. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and nightcrawlers throughout the lake.
