High heat and summer boat traffic have the bass holding tight to cover. The best place to look has been in the cattails. Flipping jigs, topwater frogs, and Senkos all worked for bites in the holes and pockets of the cattails. Drop shot and Texas rigs scored some bites as well. Catfish anglers reported good numbers of smaller whiskerfish biting nightcrawlers, dip bait, and cut anchovies, and crappie anglers did well on minijigs and small live minnows under a bobber.
