Hot weather kept many aqueduct anglers’ home, but those that hit the water early were rewarded with some good sized catches. A ten-pound catfish was reported by an angler using Triple S Dip Bait in the early morning hours, and several five-pound striper were reported by an angler throwing a Zara Spook while walking the aqueduct before sunup. Most anglers soaked anchovies, sardines, and jumbo live shiners after check gates, but plenty of fish also fell for Flukes, tube baits, and jerkbaits. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut sardines for good results after dark. Largemouth chased topwater lures early and late in the day, and Senkos got grabs in slower moving water.
