Isabella’s water level is dropping slowly and is at 11 percent capacity. The water temps are in the 70’s and the largemouth bass action is very good for both quality and numbers. There were a few quality bass reported just under 10 pounds this week off Rocky Point. One of our contacts reported connecting with a big green Pumpkin Power Worm. The bass bite is solid around the lake at 4 to 25-feet of water on poppers, purple/brown Jigs, Buzzbaits, crankbaits and Roboworms in Aaron’s Magic and Oxblood. Fish have been coming from Rocky Point, French Gulch area, The Flume, Pine Point, and from trees in North Fork/South Fork. The crappie bite is great for some and fair for others. A pair of local anglers reported a 40 fish day this week of slabs from near shore structure with Get Bent Baits. Trout have been surfacing all around the lake and are being caught from shore with Garlic scented Powerbait and GULP! Pinched Crawlers. Boat anglers have had the best action trolling various needlefish, Tasmanian Devils, and flicker shad. The catfish bite improved this week with good numbers coming on Dip Baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits. Many catfish have been caught as a bycatch from anglers targeting bass with Texas rigged worms.
