Isabella is at 13 percent of capacity and the bass action is improving. Anglers have had luck off primary lake points and around shallow structure. Bass have been coming on Senkos, jigs and reaction baits. Crappie have been biting well near and around structure in 3 to 15-feet of water. We’ve had both reports of anglers scoring stringers of slabs and anglers having a more difficult time finding fish. The key is to be moving around and finding the structure holding the large schools. The crappie action improved this week as fish moved into shallower water. The annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby continues to July 4th. Trout continue to be caught with minijigs, Powerbait, GULP! Pinched Crawlers and spinners. Boaters can find them with leadcore followed by Needlefish, Flicker shad and Tasmanian Devils. Whiskerfish have made more of a showing this week with dip baits, shrimp and cut mackerel.
