BASS
Anglers are not toiling as long as the bass are boiling. Bass are wrapped on shad and willing to attack a variety of shad pattern baits. Topwater lures like poppers and plugs, flukes on scroungers and underspins, and  ? oz Kastmasters are working well.

TROUT
No one can solve the mystery of the missing trout. There has not been a trout report in months. The most reliable info we can give is to stick with what has worked in the past. Trolling deep with shad lures or drift fishing with nightcrawlers.

STRIPER
It was a big week for big striper at DVL. Shad bates and swimbaits work the best right now. The west side of the lake and Rawson cove are the best spots. Nhan Doan of Moreno Valley caught his biggest 3 stripers at 13, 12, and 21 pounds fishing with topwater lures.

CATFISH
DVL has a regular catfish bite. It is hard to find a cut under 6 pounds. Catfish prefer mackerel, anchovies or the occasional nightcrawler. The west dam and Rawson cove are the two most reported spots.

PANFISH
If you can't catch the bass or cats you can always fish bluegill for a thrill. The dams are typically loaded with the feisty fish. Live worms or mini jigs will usually do the trick. Amy Monroe of Los Angeles caught her first fish, a 1.6oz bluegill.
