BASS
Bass fishing remains outstanding at DVL. Drop shot rigged purple plastics, watermelon brush hogs, senkos and grubs have been the predominant bass baits. John Haskin of Lemon Grove caught a 7.5 and a 6.1 pound bass fishing with plastic worms on the west dam. 12 year old Bailey Riley caught a 4.57 pound bass fishing with a Zara Spook on the north shore. Matt Thompson of Hemet caught an 8.15 pound bass fishing with Senkos on the west dam. Stephen Heathcoat of Hemet caught an 8.03 pound bass fishing with brush hogs on the west dam.

TROUT
DVL trout fishing has been fair to good. Nightcrawlers, Powerbait, and mini jigs have been the hot baits. Most reports have been from anglers fishing near the east dam. Keith Draxlen of Hemet caught a 8.75 pound trout fishing from shore with a Kastmaster. Danai Mamuong of Santa Ana caught a 6.16 pound trout fishing with a crankbait along the east dam. Dale Rangel of Menifee caught a 6.22 pound trout fishing with nightcrawlers.

STRIPER
There were no reports of Striper catches this week. The most common baits for striper are swimbaits and large plugs either trolled or fished on the points and near the inlet/outlet tower.

CATFISH
The Cats are back! The most effective catfish baits have been mackerel, anchovies, and shrimp fished near the east dam, 3rd cove of shoreline fishing, and near the wave attenuator.

PANFISH
The panfish reports have remained slow but that is not to say the opportunity is not there. The bite will improve as the water gets warmer. Mini jigs, and live worms are the most common panfish baits.
