STRIPER
The striper fishing is slow with only one catch reported this week. One angler caught a 22 pound striper on a Fish Taco lure near the east dam. The most common baits for striper are swimbaits and large plugs either trolled or fished on the points.

CATFISH
The catfish are stirring! There were several large catches reported this week. Arden Hanline Jr. of Spring Valley caught a 21.20 pound catfish fishing with a Huddleston swimbait off a boat in the 3rd shoreline fishing cove. Chris Couch of Ontario caught a 6 pound and 15 pound catfish on nightcrawlers near the wave attenuator. The most common baits have been mackerel, anchovies, and shrimp.

PANFISH
Panfish season is rearing its head with more frequent catches of crappie and sunfish. The fish are gradually moving into the shallows, so the hot bite is just around the corner. Tanner Bliss of Menifee caught a 2.55 pound crappie using a Rapala in 10 feet of water on the east dam.
