BASS
The bass are bedding and anglers are crying live on spawn! Senkos and Ikas in watermelon, drop shot rigged small plastics in purple, and Texas rigged watermelon brush hogs were the most reported baits. The south corner of the east dam and west dam, behind restroom 3 and near restroom 2 were the hot spots for bass. Matt Thompson of Hemet caught a 10 pound bass fishing with a bear hook near the marina.

TROUT
Trout fishing was great this week for boaters and shore anglers. Powerbait, nightcrawlers, and mini jigs. Mike Dickinson of Hemet caught 2 trout totaling 12.76 pounds fishing with Powerbait. Vincent Ledesna of Sun City caught a 5.8 pound trout fishing with Powerbait. John Johnson of Menifee caught a 5 pound trout fishing from shore with Powerbait. Archie Kerkhoff of Palmdale caught an 8.44 pound trout fishing with a Senko near the quarry. Diamond Valley Marina would like to congratulate Andrew Aralos of Hemet who caught the new lake record trout weighing 15.45 pounds. He was fishing with Powerbait near the east dam.

STRIPER
It was another slow week for striper with no catches reported. The most common baits for striper are swimbaits and large plugs either trolled or fished on the points.

CATFISH
There were a few cat catches reported this week on nightcrawlers. The most common baits have been mackerel, anchovies, and shrimp.

PANFISH
Panfish have been gradually moving into the shallows so the hot bite is just around the corner. Devontae Lewis of Beaumont caught a 2.16 pound Red Ear Sunfish fishing with a nightcrawler on the point to the left of the marina.
