The afternoon winds have been picking up and making it tough. Mornings are the time to hit the lake to avoid the wind. Make sure to bring a jacket and swing through the store and grab a warm cup of coffee.
Striper: The striper have started to pick up a little. They are more active since the trout are coming in, so that’s a bonus. They are traveling in smaller groups, so some areas are really hit and miss. The best luck we have heard so far has been the coves along the south shore. Softer plastics and swimbaits with white or silver have had the most success.
Large Mouth: Work the coves on the south and east ends. The bite has slowed slightly, but they are still hitting on plastics and Nightcrawlers. The silver and white colorings have been doing well, but don’t be afraid to throw something with red flakes in it.
Trout: We were stocked on the 30'* with 600lbs. They varied between 1 and 3 pounds. There has been marginal luck in the east end, with a better bite along the south side and near ramp 2. The good news is they are spreading through the lake fairly quick. The bad is that the birds have been arriving in larger numbers to take advantage of them as well. Power bait is working somewhat, but you might have better luck with rooster tails.
Blue Gill: The gills are few and far between. They have been found sporadically around the lake, with no real rhyme or reason to where they are.
Catfish: Work the inlet and near ramp 2 for the best luck. The weather is cooling quickly, so expect to go deep to have much luck. Garlic shrimp, livers, and worms are the way to go.
Carg.- There are still tons of carp in the lake. If that’s your fish come on out and see what kind of magic you can work. They are always fun to catch!

Lake Skinner Fishing Report
Lake SkinnerThe water temperature has cooled. This week it was on the slower side for many Anglers but there was still a few to be had. The fish seem to be going deeper, mostly caught in the middle of the lake, near the damn and Inlet. Next Trout plant is November 30, 2016. Stripes: The striper have been doing great due to the fact of Trout stocking. Try using umbrella rigs, shad, Sibiki rigs, and crank baits. These beauties have been...... Read More
Lake Skinner Fishing Report
Lake SkinnerSanta Ana winds combined with temperatures in the low 90’s made fishing very difficult this last week. The ones that were going deep started to transition back up, but will soon be heading back down as the weather is going to be dropping back into the low 70’s. Striper: The striper have been tough to pin down. It seems as if they are starting to spread out chasing the trout. We have seen some luck working the coves on the...... Read More
