Santa Ana winds combined with temperatures in the low 90’s made fishing very difficult this last week. The ones that were going deep started to transition back up, but will soon be heading back down as the weather is going to be dropping back into the low 70’s.

Striper: The striper have been tough to pin down. It seems as if they are starting to spread out chasing the trout. We have seen some luck working the coves on the east end and along the south shore, but it has been hit and miss as to which coves are working. That being said, they seem to be coming shallower looking for the trout, so start working swimbaits with trout coloring.

Larae Mouth.• The smaller largemouth have been terrorizing the lake. They have been biting on pretty much anything no matter the depth. There have been some sightings of larger bass on the south side still, but before they can give a chase the smaller ones snatch up the bait.

Trout: We are scheduled to get a stock on the 16th this month. It should be 600lbs, which is great for the lake. Nobody has caught any yet, but after a few more stockings we should have a good amount in the lake and start seeing some action.

Blue Gill: There has been a bit of action towards the inlet, but other than that they have been scarce. Keep working livers and crickets for a chance, but the little largemouth have been eating those up as well.

Catfish: Catfish are still plentiful around the buoy line and the inlet. Livers are working and there have been some reports of mackerel drawing their attention. We have also heard of some shore fishing near the handicap area that has produced some decent size fish.

Corp: There are still tons of carp in the lake. If that’s your fish come on out and see what kind of magic you can work. They are big and not going anywhere anytime soon.
