Every week the catfish bite gets hotter & hotter at Santa Ana River Lakes. Big limits are being taken mostly at night time and especially the overnight sessions.
Frank Moore, pictured above of La Mirada fished/camped overnight & ended up with his 10 catfish limit totaling 28 1/2 pounds. Frank's largest catfish weighed in at 4 pounds using mackerel in Chris' Pond. Desmond & Damar Kemp of Salinas, fished the family overnight special and finished 1 catfish shy of their 15 fish limit. The Kemp's 14 catfish totaled 25 pounds using Magic Bait liver & cheese flavor in the middle of the Catfish Lake. Donovan Miller and Scott Chance of Fullerton caught 9 catfish totaling 20 pounds using shrimp in the Catfish Lake.
Justine Chevaliver & Alison Sharp, Photo #1 of Brea landed 9 catfish totaling 21 pounds using shrimp in the Catfish Lake. Nash Helm of La Mirada caught 8 catfish totaling 16 pounds 8 ounces using shrimp in both the Catfish Lake & Big Lake.
