Corona Lake is the place to be for all your summer fishing and camping needs. The catfish bite seems to be at its best around midnight, so anglers deciding to fish overnight seem to have a advantage. Heaviest stringer for the week was taken by Robert Sr., Robert Jr. & Robert III, Villanueva, pictured of Riverside. This 3 man family team landed 17 catfish totaling 42 1/2 pounds using shrimp from a boat at the Dam. Allen & Marcus Lupoe of Lake Elsinore caught 14 fish, a combination of both catfish & tilapia weighing in at 18 pounds using night-crawlers from a boat. Rick Lewis of Corona decided to fish overnight and ended up with 10 catfish totaling 28 pounds using mackerel soaked in Eagle Claw garlic gravy fishing at J.D's point. Yarol Mogo of Corona caught & released a 2 pound crappie using a jig behind the bait-shop. Corona Lake is open seven-days-a-week and has 24 hour overnight fishing/camping sessions every weekend during the summer.
