Largemouth and Catfish have been the most active at Castaic Lake

Fishermen had a great time fishing for Largemouth at both the upper & lower lakes for Castaic Lake. Hot spots were Firebreak, Pete's Point and S.S. Ski Arm. Bait of choice includes nightcrawlers and Roboworms.

Catfish bite is doing well with most of the action coming at Elizabeth Canyon and Utopia. Mackerel has been the best bait for the Kitties. Finally, Bluegill are being caught at the lower lake on mealworms between 6:30 & 8:00 PM.

There is a good Largemouth bite going on at Castic Lake. Top water lures are doing the trick. There are lota of little Bass around. Catfishing is good in either shady areas or muddy areas. This week proved to be catfish week at Castaic Lake. Anglers caught Catfish in Taylor Spur and Utopia Cove. They used mackerel and anchovies around 60 ft. in the water column. This was definitely the best week for Catfish so far this year. On the other hand the Largemouth bite was solid in Coash, Firebreak and Mooring coves.
