Largemouth Bass are on the bite at Castaic Lake

There is a good Largemouth bite going on at Castic Lake. Top water lures are doing the trick. There are lota of little Bass around.

Catfishing is good in either shady areas or muddy areas. The Stripers being caught are small, 10 to 14" but they are biting on top water lures. There have been no boils as of yet.

This week proved to be catfish week at Castaic Lake. Anglers caught Catfish in Taylor Spur and Utopia Cove. They used mackerel and anchovies around 60 ft. in the water column. This was definitely the best week for Catfish so far this year. On the other hand the Largemouth bite was solid in Coash, Firebreak and Mooring coves. The Striper & Largemouth action at the points on Lake Castaic was hot last week. 5:45 to 6:15 AM was the time to be fishing. The fluke bite is definitely going off at that time for the Stripers. Largemouth are favoring nightcrawlers and small grub plastics....... Read More
