Anglers continue to pull out limits of rainbows and even big Lightning Trout this past week at Corona Lake. The bite has been good all around lake from shore, boat and float tube. Adrian Contrerars & Justin Beitler of Riverside caught a mixture of 10 lightning and rainbow trout totaling 21 lbs. 10 oz. using Bline jigs. Their largest trout weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 oz fishing from shore at the dam. Dave Halfacre of West Covina landed a huge 6 pound 8 ounce Lightning Trout also fishing from the shore at dam with dough bait. Vicky & Diana Sanchez or also known as the "Corona Gurlz" ended up with 10 catfish totaling 28 lbs. 8 oz. with the biggest cat weighing in at 5 pounds. The "Corona Gurlz" were both using night-crawlers from their float tubes. Corona Lake is open seven-days-a-week for both day & night fishing. The Catfish Grand Opening is scheduled for the big Memorial Day Weekend on May 23-24-25-26, and there will be 24-Hour Fishing all four days!! Anglers have been getting a mixture of big trout, big catfish and even big sturgeon the past week at Santa Ana River Lakes. Fishing with a night-crawler will give you the advantage of catching any one of these species. Heaviest fish of the week was landed by Patrick Meurs of Yorba Linda.
