Largemouth Bass are near the surface at Diamond Valley, largest bass this week was 8.5 lbs.

Surface Water Temp: 62-65 degrees
Fish Plants: No more Mt. Lassen trout plants scheduled.
Lake Hours: 6:00am - 6:30pm
Weather: Forecast shows temperatures in the high 70's to 80's this week. Wind picks up in the afternoon.

BASS
Bass are on the surface to 25 feet of water. Anglers reported many 2-3 lb pound bass and a few largemouth over 6 lbs. Majority of the fish were caught on senkos or dropshotting plastic worms. Colored plastics, such as, Margarita mutilator, morning dawn, and plumberry have been effective. Chuck Wittenbrock of Upland caught an 8.5 lb largemouth on a roboworm. Shaun McCarron of Martha's Vineyard caught a 4 lb largemouth on a nightcrawler.
STRIPER
Striper fishing has been fair to good. Some anglers reported limits of 3-5 lb stripers this week. Phoukham Phomphakdy of Winchester caught a 24 pound striper on a Castaic swimbait fishing from shore. Great catch!
CATFISH
Few catfish have been reported by anglers this week. Nightcrawlers and shrimp work well for catfish.
TROUT
Anglers reported big trout still swimming around on the shore. Powerbait, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers work well for trout. Rick Sombounkhane of La Habra caught an 11.5 pound rainbow trout on a visionary lure.
PANFISH
Panfish are starting to bite. Nightcrawlers and jigs work well for bluegill, crappie, and redear. Jerome Fisher of Apple Valley caught a 1.5 lb crappie on a white mini jig. Shaun McCarron of Martha's Vineyard caught a 2 lb redear on a nightcrawler.

A couple of nice Bass were caught this week at Diamond Valley Lake, 10.35 lbs and 8 lbs.
