Storms kept most anglers away from this past weekend, despite a 4,000 plant from Calaveras on Friday. There were several limits taken from shore the day of the plant around the boom and down in Drakes Cove. All types of lures and baits produced that day. But with no one fishing, the vast majority of these fish remain untouched. Prior to the stocking trollers working the wall around Santa Cruz Bay caught some of the better grade hold-overs on nightcrawlers/dodger combos.

Bass fishing has been fair to good on drop shot, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. The fish should be moving up into the bedding areas soon. Bow fishing has yet to go off, and should with some consistent warm weather. The same could be said for all the other species. There are two more trout plants scheduled for this season, both prior to the annual trout derby April 14th and 15th. One of those will be 4,500 lbs. of the famous Nebraska "Tail Walkers". Crappie and Catfish were both no shows.
