Warmer weather, calm winds and an active trout bite make for a winning combination. Berkley Power and Gulp! baits in a variety of colors and scents (especially Chunky Cheese Garlic, Purple Nymph, Rainbow Candy-Garlic Gulp! and Red Salmon Egg) are really making anglers rods go "Bend-O". The "Hot Spots" continue to be along the Northern Shoreline from the Dam to Stanfield Cutoff. Juniper Point has produced 10 lb, 8 lb. and 5 lb. Rainbows over the last ten days! Best bite time is early morning in 12 to 18 feet of water. The water in our "Blue Jewel" is clear and the troublesome sheet ice is gone! With mid-day temps in the high 40's to the low 50's, and beautiful blue skies, now is the best time to enjoy "Winter" fishing in the Big Bear Valley!!!
