Trout fishing is starting to come around, and a good bite was reported by shore anglers at Mohawk, Harveys, and E Point on Kastmasters, roostertails and rapalas. PowerBait and nightcrawlers worked for those wanting to soak bait. Trollers saw some limits on flat-lined Rapalas and needlefish/dodger combos with leadcore to 3 colors in the mouth of Santa Cruz and Cachuma bays.

Bass are being found around 25 ft. of water. They are taking texas rigs, as well as jigs, with a few spinnerbait fish as well. Crappie turned on a bit this last week, with some double digit numbers being reported trolling spinners in the narrows.

Bow fishing for carp has slowed some this past week, but a lack of archers made reports hard to come by. A handful of cats were also caught back in Horse Creek on mackerel, but catfish are pretty much done for the season.

Bass fishing has been fair, but persistent anglers found limits anywhere from 3' to 15' in the water column. ...... Read More

Throwing Kastmasters, Panther Martins, Thomas buoyants and Rapalas all took rainbows to 3 lbs. PowerBait and 'crawlers also worked well for people soaking bait. Trollers fat lined a variety of lures around the log boom for limits, or near limits. Bass fishing slowed with the cold...... Read More
